Ecological Water Quality Assessment
|
Ecological assessment is the collecting and analysing of benthic freshwater invertebrates to assess the presence of any contaminant burdens and the over all health of a river ecosystem. It can often be conducted in conjunction chemical and toxicological investigations to show which, if any contaminant burdens are affecting the river. It can therefore show whether contamination is migrating from a site into controlled waters.
