Services
Remedios offers a number of services in relation to the assessment of the extent and nature of contaminated land. Remedios are experienced in carrying out contaminated land site investigations. Remedios also assess the associated risk to human health and the wider environment. Site investigations can take several forms and can vary in size from small sites (involving 3 or 4 sampling points) to large sites (involving 100 plus sampling points)
A number of Case Studies are available show casing the variety of investigations we have conducted in the past. There are 3 main types of investigation involving contaminated land and these are Phase I, Phase II and Phase III. Phase I is the preliminary investigation, Phase II is the intrusive site investigation and the Phase III is the remediation or clean up of any contamination encountered. These will all be explained in more detail.
Remedios also specialise in ecological assessment of waters, risk assessment using regulatory approved human health risk assessment models, long term monitoring strategies and the production of remediation method statements.
Remedios offers a range of services including::
|
Phase I Investigations
A Phase I (preliminary) investigation is the initial stage of a site investigation. It is a desktop study and is used to characterise the past and present activities of a site which could have led to any potential contamination (sources) occurring at the site. |
|
Phase II Investigations
Phase II investigations are intrusive site investigations which involve taking and analysing samples (soil, water, gas if appropriate) from the site to determine the extent of any contamination which may potentially be present. |
|
Phase III (Remedial Works)
Phase III is the remediation or clean up of contamination encountered at site and is usually followed by a validation sampling to ensure the site has been cleaned up satisfactory levels that no longer pose a risk to human health or the wider environment. |
|
Due Diligence Reporting
Environmental due diligence is the investigation of the environmental risks and liabilities associated with new business transactions, whether the transaction is a management buyout, acquisition, merger, disposal, financing and refinancing. |
|
Ecological Water Quality Assessment
Ecological assessment is the collecting and analysing of benthic freshwater invertebrates to assess the presence of any contaminant burdens and the over all health of a river ecosystem. |
|
Fugitive Emissions Surveys
One environmental challenge, particularly for the petrochemical, chemical and allied fields is reducing and preventing fugitive emissions. It is recognised by the industry that they must reduce there impact on the environment, and a key factor to improving the environment for air quality and climate change is by reducing industrial emissions. |
